RIED WEELFEL Grüner Veltliner
This small vineyard, which is located up in between Fumberg und Hengstberg, is characterized by a unique terroir. The soil consists of fertile primordial sea sand, which is covered by a clay soil layer whith great water capacity. The grapes are selected and handpicked as late as possible. Maceration takes place for at least 6 hours before berries are careful pneumatically pressed. The must is slowly fermented in large wooden barrels and our stoneware vessels. After fermentation the wine is aged on lees for a long period to gain full character. This unique Veltliner is bottled after long aging directly from the lees.
